Mike has been at the forefront of the development of the investment funds industry in Ireland since 1989. He is a founder member of the Irish Funds Industry Association. His current role is Chairman, Global Management Company Solutions. He is also a Group Director at Waystone.
Mike established KB Associates in 2003 and, over a twenty-year period as its Managing Principal, led its development to become Ireland’s leading UCITS ManCo provider and the premier provider of advisory services to asset managers establishing and operating investment funds in Ireland. He was also responsible for developing the firm’s presence in Cayman, Luxembourg, Malta and the UK.
Prior to establishing KB Associates, Mike held senior positions at Bank of New York where he was responsible for the establishment and ongoing management of its Dublin operations. He also served as a Director of Royal Bank of Scotland’s global custody operations in Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man. Previously he was Vice President with responsibility for product management at JP Morgan in London. He was also responsible for the establishment of Daiwa Securities operations in Ireland.
As a Group Director and Chairman, Global Management Company Solutions Mike is actively involved in the strategic management of the Waystone Group. He works closely with the Global Management Company and ETF businesses at Waystone.
Mike holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Hons) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting (Hons) from University College Dublin and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.
